When you open FVDI J2534 for ford software after installation, an error window will pop
out. That means you have not connect FVDI J2534 equipment with your computer, as
show in the below. connect your device with computer, and the FVDI J2534 software will
be opened normally.

When you put FVDI J2534 equipment to connect the computer and open the software,
it will pop below error message, it means you do not connected vehicle ECU module and
the ECU voltage cannot less than 8 volts. After using the OBD interface of FVDI J2534 to
connect the ECU, and the software can be opened normally and put into use.

Note: Cannot open the IDS software on the desktop directly, it is recommended to delete
the IDS software shortcut on the desktop.

Vident iLink400 Read I/M Readiness Status Data

Vident iLink400 I/M Readiness option allows to view a snapshot of the operations for the emission system on OBDII/EOBD vehicles.

I/M Readiness is a useful function used to check if all monitors are OK or N/A. The vehicle’s computer performs tests on the emission system during normal driving conditions. After a specific amount of drive time (each monitor has specific driving conditions and time required), the computer’s monitors decide if the vehicles emission system is working correctly.

When the monitor’s status is:
  OK - vehicle was driven enough to complete the monitor.
  INC (Incomplete) - vehicle was not driven enough to complete the monitor.
  N/A (Not Applicable) - vehicle does not support that monitor.

There are two types of I/M Readiness tests:
Since DTCs Cleared - shows status of the monitors since the DTCs were last cleared.This Drive Cycle - shows status of monitors since the start of the current drive cycle.

There are two ways to retrieve I/M Readiness Status data:
One-click VIDENT iLink 400 I/M readiness key
Typical way: select I/M Readiness from Diagnostic Menu
To retrieve I/M Readiness Status data by one-click I/M readiness key:
1. Press the One-Click I/M Readiness Key on the keypad and the following screen displays.


2. Colored LED and build-in beeper provide both visual and audible reminders for emission check and DTCs. Below is the interpretation of the LED and build-in beeper.
When the LED is :
$ Green - Indicates that engine systems are “OK” and working properly (the number of Monitors equipped with the vehicle which have run and performed their self-diagnostic testing is in the allowed range. MIL is off. ).No stored and pending DTCs exist. The vehicle is ready for an Emissions Test.
$ Yellow - The tool finds a possible problem. It indicates the following two conditions:
(1) Pending DTCs exist. Please check the I/M Readiness test result screen and use the
Read Codes function to view detailed codes information.
(2) Some of the vehicle’s emission monitors have not working properly. If the I/M
Readiness screen shows no DTC (including pending DTC), but the Yellow LED is
still illuminated, it indicate a “Monitor Has Not Run” status.
$Red- Indicates some problems exist with one or more of the vehicle’s system, and the vehicle is not ready for an Emissions Test. As well there are DTCs found. The MIL lamp on the vehicle’s instrument panel will light steady. The problem that is causing the illumination of Red LED should be fixed before an Emissions Test or driving the vehicle further.

The built-in beeper works with the colored LED simultaneous, as an assistance to reflect the I/M Readiness test results:
 Green - two long beeps.
 Yellow - short, long, short beeps.
 Red - four short beeps.

To retrieve I/M Readiness Status data :
1. Scroll with UP/DOWN key to highlight I/M Readiness from Diagnostic Menu and press the OK key. If vehicle supports both types of monitors, a screen for monitor type selection displays.
Select a monitor type and press the OK key.
2. If the vehicle is tested supports both types of monitors, following screen displays.


3. Depending on readiness test, one of these 2 screens will be present. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through data. Press the ESC key to exit.

After the vehicle is picked up, the test is verified to be faulty, the ignition switch is turned on, the engine is started, the engine is started smoothly, and the engine fault light on the instrument panel is lit, and the fault phenomenon does exist. Connect the fault detector and retrieve the fault code. Analysis of the fault code shows that the fault codes associated with the fault phenomenon are P0171 and P0174. The relevant data stream is read. The data flow shows that the long-term fuel correction values of cylinder groups 1 and 2 at idle are 20.3%, the short-term fuel correction value of cylinder group 1 is 3.91%, and the short-term fuel correction value of cylinder group 2 is 5.47%. . However, when the accelerator pedal is depressed, the engine speed is increased. As the engine speed increases, the long-term fuel correction values of the cylinder groups 1 and 2 gradually return to normal, but the short-term fuel correction value of the cylinder group 2 is always larger than that of the cylinder group 1.


According to the above inspection results, combined with the maintenance experience, it is considered that there is a high possibility of leakage in the engine intake line. Considering that the short-term fuel correction value of the cylinder group 2 is always larger than that of the cylinder group 1, it is suspected that there may be a leak in the intake line on the side of the cylinder group 2. Then, the intake line on the side of the cylinder group 2 is inspected, and it is found that there is a leak in the intake switching valve on the side of the cylinder group 2. However, according to the maintenance experience, the leakage of the pipeline on this side does not make the long-term fuel correction value of the whole system significantly higher.


Next, the maintenance personnel inspected the activated carbon canister solenoid valve and found that the activated carbon canister solenoid valve was still open at idle speed. Disconnect the pipe connected to the activated carbon canister at the throttle valve, and grasp the interface on the throttle side by hand to observe the change of the long-term fuel correction value of the cylinder groups 1 and 2 at the idle speed, and find the long-term fuel of the cylinder groups 1 and 2. The correction value has changed to 18.8%. Although it has improved better than the previous test results, the air leakage fault has not been completely eliminated.


Check the various ports of the pipeline between the air filter and the intake manifold, no air leakage, and check the brake vacuum tube, the crankcase forced ventilation line, the fuel pressure regulating valve vacuum line and the activated carbon canister solenoid valve vacuum tube. Road, no abnormalities. Troubleshooting is deadlocked.


After careful consideration, the fault apparently has air that has not been counted in, causing the system to correct the amount of fuel injected. The maintenance personnel again inspect the intake line again. When the air cleaner was removed and the intake line between the throttle and the throttle was inspected, it was found that the back of the intake pipe was aged and cracked.


Troubleshooting: Replace the intake line and cylinder group 2 intake switching valve, commissioning, troubleshooting.

Recently,Lonsdor company launch their newest product:Lonsdor JLR IMMO,special for JLR and Ranger Rover key programming.It’s designed to program car keys and applicable to above 95% of Jaguar and LandRover models currently (VPW protocols of Jaguar’s old model is unsupported).

User who’ve bound Lonsdor product: input account, password and verification code to login.
