Before programming Volvo XC60 key, you need to read the security data of two modules (CEM module and KVM module), then directly add the key or program new keys via OBD.

Part 1: Read the security data of two modules:
  1. CEM module (behind the storage box of co-pilot)
  2. KVM module (right side of the trunk)
There are two kinds of smart keys: 5 keys and 6 keys, both are 433MHZ frequency.
For 5 keys, before programming key, dismantle the CEM module and read the security data to backup.
For 6 keys, before programming key, dismantle both the CEM and KVM modules and read the security data to backup.
When we read CEM and KVM security data to backup, we need to use accessories of the adapter, RN-01 and FS-01 probe board.
Note: First time to use the adapter, we need to bind it with K518ISE. Go to the K518ISE home page and choose "Settings -> binding adapter", following the direction to finish binding.
One K518ISE host can bind up to 5 adapters, and the bound adapter cannot be bound to other K518ISE hosts. Once bounded, no need to bind again.

Guide: How to read CEM security data

Important Notes:
The reason why a part of the failures in Volvo KVM data reading because the chip model is different, then please do as below:
` Use programmer to read out the data (.bin file);
a Please contact and send the EEPROM data to K518ISE after-sales service, the engineers will convert the data into a dedicated file;
b Connect K518ISE with computer and put the dedicated file into "file ---> feature_35" folder;
c Following the operations to select the KVM data from the process.
  1. For 6 keys, during operation, you need to firstlyinsert the key into the key slot and then operate by following the directions.
  2. For key recognition failure, please make sure the smart key is not locked, as locked key cannot be programmed, the fresh new key generally will not be locked.
  3. K518ISE has identification & unlock functions, which will test and identify whether a key is an unused one or not. If the remote control is invalid after the key is programmed (on condition that the battery is well installed and the remote control frequency is correct), try to import the CEM security data to unlock the key and then program again.
Note: Only the key of this car or corresponding car can be unlock after reading the CEM security data.
4,When installing Volvo battery, please note that the two batteries are placed in an overlap way and separated by a white paper in the middle, so please do not just replace the above one.
Dismantling is also very simple, just remove the metal key, and gently pry with a not so sharp knife in the same place where the metal key lies.

To enable "Generate BMW FEM / BDC keys", you need to pay or use 8000 points. Someone may think why the update need to charge, why not free, because the additional charge is to pay Xhorse engineers' efforts and after-sale service.

Key programming into FEM / BDC is divided into several stages
1 Preparation of FEM / BDC thru OBD
2 Preparation of FEM / BDC using programmer (Reading BACKUP)
3 Programming FEM / BDC with BMW-Explorer via OBD
4 Write back BACKUP with the programmer
5 Key programming thru OBD
Paragraph 1:
It is necessary to perform a quick test , go to the FEM / BDC and click the "Key learning" button,
The program will check for a supported version of the unit, prepare the unit for the next procedure, and will display the message  "Read Eeprom and upload in calc".
Paragraph 2:
Remove the FEM / BDC unit as described HERE. Disassemble the FEM / BDC unit as described in THIS SECTION.
Read 95128/95256 Eeprom (pictured in the upper right corner) using programmer
(Orange Xprog or others that supports Eeprom 95128/95256).
Download Eeprom into BMW-Explorer, and save EEprom and write it back into the FEM / BDC.
Paragraph 3:
Install the unit on the car in the reverse order of removal, and connect BMW-Explorer via OBD.
The car probably will not respond to the key, do not get scared!
Connect to FEM, press "Write keys", Explorer will propose to program the FEM / BDC, agree and wait for the programming to finish.
After successful programming, the program will write to you "Return the saved original Eeprom", then remove FEM again and using programmer, return the previously read contents of EEprom 95128/95256. Then you can install the unit back to the car.
Sometimes it is possible that after the last manipulation the FEM / BDC will stop responding to the diagnostics, then you need to flash this EEprom into the unit and program the unit with Esys or ISTA-P and start the unit preparation from step 1.
P.S: Follow the instructions and  save your time.
Paragraph 4:
Connect to the FEM / BDC control unit using the BMW-explorer, press "Extra options" then "Key learning". Key programming window will open and will read the key data we need for programming.
If you have a working key, then you need to bring it to the emergency coil as pictured below and press the "Read crypto key" button.
About successful reading of the "Crypto" BMW-Explorer show "Crypto Ok" message.
If you do not have a working key, then you need to read the ISN from the DME and enter it into the "ISN from DME" window.
You can also enter 8 bytes of the "crypto" manually.
Now you can start to learn keys. To do this we must select a free track for the key and press "Learn key", bring a new key to the emergency coil on the steering column.

1. Please prepare the following tools:

2.Take out the rubber:

I received Launch CReader 419 after 10 days i ordered it at Launch X431 it’s small and light, plug and play, portable to use anywhere 


I confirm the plug is connected well;

all buttons are workable;

and the port can be used no issue

the screen resolution is good to read

and the speed, as the dealer says, fast and smart

so far, I have used it for 2 weeks. Worked perfectly.

Connect KESS V2 FW 5.017 ECU Chip Turning Tool with Nissan Pathfinder via the

OBD2 port.
Open KESS V2 5.017 Ksuite 2.22 software.
Choose Manufacturer: Nissan, Model: Pathfinder
ECU type: 2005 YD25DDTI DENSO H1
Select “ID” to first read Nissan YD25 ECU ID.
Name the new ECU data file and choose where to store before ECU reading.
Switch off car dashboard, click OK to continue.
Then choose “READING” and switch on car dashboard. (And check the connection is OK)
After communication 100%, click OK and proceed to read ECU.
